Styled Wedding Session Collaboration!

Welcome to this very special edition of my blog posts! Over this past month of April, I got the amazing opportunity with my Wedding Class at NAIT to photograph a styled wedding session. Me and 5 other classmates got together to brainstorm an idea for this assignment and we decided on going into a studio with a model while collaborating with vendors to create something amazing. Everyone had a vendor in mind when it came to gathering supplies. All the vendors we collaborated with will be at the bottom of the post if you want to check them out! Special thanks again to them and my photographer classmates for helping this all become possible!

Firstly, Hayley (@hayleycoleman_photography) went with finding the perfect studio location for our photoshoot, eventually finding The Photographer Studio here in Edmonton, AB. She was also super incredibly kind to bring fabric bought from Fabricland, glassware, and tools to help build the different sets in the studio.

Rafaella (@rafaellarorizphotography) offered to build and bring the wooden archway for the main set in the session, while also bringing lots of silverware, glassware, and tools as well to help bring everything together. She had also brought an adorable brown wooden table to match the archway so everything would fit together in color and theme. She had also brought some lighting and softboxes just in case the lighting from outside wasn’t enough. It helped a ton!

Maya (@maya_lalitaa) was in charge of finding the perfect model that could work with us for the shoot, and she had found Olivia Riceman on ModeModles.com. She was the perfect fit for the session and was super happy to collab and work with all of us!

Renata (@renatasmphoto) found Flowers By Merle for the live floral we wanted in the session. The vendor was incredibly kind with lending us some bunches of flowers, and Renata found the perfect flower colors and sizes for the arch, cakes, table placement, and bouquet Olivia would hold. They were gorgeous!!! Renata also ran over to the school to grab some extra equipment for us so we could have a variety of different shots with different lenses.

Brenda (@bnvtvliv) hit up Sarah’s Fashion for a potential collab for the wedding dress needed for the shoot. They kindly offered to lend us an amazing gown that fit Olivia almost perfectly without alterations. They were a huge part of making this possible since wedding dresses can be more on the expensive side!

And lastly, I (@hwc>_) ordered 3 vanilla cakes with white frosting from The Sweetside here in Edmonton, AB. They delivered the cakes to my house the day before and were super helpful and thorough throughout the entire process. They even offer flowers as cake toppers as well, but since we had already ordered the flowers for the cakes from Flowers By Merle we only got the individual cakes.

Everyone’s contributions really helped make the day super fun and enjoyable. We took a break for Olive Garden halfway through the day as well since we were getting a bit hungry, nothing like some good-old alfredo pasta and bread sticks cant fix! And overall the day was a wonderful experience, and I’m super happy we got to work with so many amazing businesses throughout the city! I hope you enjoy the images as much as I do.

The vendors and where you can check them out!
